The Fallacy of Excessive Bureaucracy in School (1) — Preface

Our society is filled with an excessive bureaucracy. An indisputable fact is that the bureaucracy is now extended and thrived in education. I come up with opening a new series on my personal blog called, the The Fallacy of Excessive Bureaucracy in School. It begins one to two articles showcasing various instances where school bureaucracy is excessive in China, followed by my main argument, that excessive school bureaucracy is toxic, retrogressive, and alianating. Then, it will end with analysis of why this happens and how could education getting over it.

The purpose of this series is, in part, to organize my chaotic thoughts about this terrible educational environment and to shed light on this specific problem of which severity and emergency are underrated by society. Originally, we curse about the Gaokao examination system, we condemn lots of inhumane ways some schools used to manipulate the students. Later I found that these emotional, non-systematic expression of dissatisfaction have no actual influence but as merely a personal way to vent our feelings. Addtionally, these attacks does not reach the root of current education fallacy, that I will argue is bureaucracy.

The structure of this series is roughly as below:

  1. Ubiquitous and excessive bureaucracy in School.
  2. Fallacy of this mode in education.
  3. Society’s concern.
  4. Possible way of alleviation.
